In the town of Verona there are two large families, the Capulet’s and the Montagues. These two families hate each other. They have had many fights with each other. Gregory and Sampson are Capulet’s. They are in the main square of the town. Gregory and Sampson see some Montague’s across the square. Gregory thinks the Montague’s are nasty people. He wants to fight them, but they are so quiet these days. Sampson wants to play a joke on them. He will stare at them think they will either start fight or he will call them cowards. Abraham and Benvolio are Montagues. They see the Capulet’s are staring at them. The Capulets and Montagues start to argue with each other. They call each other cowards. Gregory and Benvolio pull out their swords. They continue to argue with each other.
Mr Capulet is head of the Capulet Family. He hates the Montagues. Mr Capulet hears that there is a fight in the main square. Mr Capulet asks for his sword to get involved in the fight. His wife, Mrs Capulet, is worried about her husband. Mrs Capulet thinks her husband is too old. She thinks he should take his cane instead. Mr Capulet still wants his sword. Mr Montague is in his castle when he hears about the fight. Mr Montague is very angry and he demands his sword. His wife, Mrs Montague thinks he is too old. Mrs Montague doesn’t want him to get involved in the fight. Mr and Mrs Montague’s son is called Romeo. Mrs Montague is worried Romeo is involved in the fight. Romeo is woken up by his best friend Benvolio. He tells Romeo about the fight in the square. Benvolio thinks he was only trying to stop the fight. He tells Romeo that in the end the Lord of Verona came and settled the fight. Romeo is bored because he can’t have what he wants. He wants to be in love.
Mr Capulet is sitting in his castle speaking with a man called Paris. Mr Capulet tells Paris about the fight with the Montagues on the previous day. The Lord of Verona has punished both the Montagues and Capulets the same. Mr Capulet’s thinks it will difficult for the Capulets and Montagues to keep peace. Paris has asked Mr Capulet can he marry his daughter. Mr Capulet’s daughter is called Juliet. Capulet doesn’t want to promise his daughter to Paris yet. He thinks Juliet is too young. She is only fourteen. Mr Capulet tells Paris that she will be ready in two years. Paris tells Capulet that many girls from other families get married at her age. All of Mr Capulet’s other children are dead. Mr Capulet doesn’t want to give Juliet away this early. Capulet tells Paris to ask her and she will say. Mr Capulet tells Paris if Juliet agrees he will have to say yes. Capulet is holding a party at his house tonight. He has invited many close friends and agrees to make Paris his most precious guest.
Juliet is sleeping in her bedroom. Nanny starts to call her. She is startled awake. Mrs Capulet wants Juliet and Nanny to come to the kitchen. Mrs Capulet asks Juliet has she taught about marriage. Juliet is shocked, she thinks she is too young to get married. She is fourteen. She doesn’t want to get married. Mrs Capulet tells Juliet that there are many girls her age who are already married. Mrs Capulet was married when she was Juliet’s age. Nanny thinks Juliet should think more about marriage before she gets too old. Mrs Capulet tells Juliet that the Count Paris has asked for her hand in marriage. Nanny is very excited. She thinks there is no man as handsome and kind as Paris in all of Verona. Mrs Capulet wants to know what Juliet thinks. She thinks Juliet should meet Paris at the party tonight. Juliet promises to meet Paris once at the party but will not tell her mother or Nanny anything else.
The party is on at Capulet’s house. There are many people there. It is a fun costume party where everyone is wearing masks. Romeo and some of his friends have snuck into the party to have a good time. Gregory recognises Romeo at the party. He is very angry and goes to his Mr Capulet. Capulet tells him to pretend not to have seen Romeo. There are too many important people at the party and Mr Capulet doesn’t want a fight. Gregory doesn’t want to ruin the party but he promises to do something to Romeo later. Romeo sees Juliet from across the room. He goes to her and asks to hold her hand. Juliet agrees and is very interested in Romeo. Benvolio tells Romeo to stay away from Juliet because she is Mr Capulets daughter. Romeo can’t stop thinking about her. Benvolio tells Romeo that they should leave before they are discovered. Juliet asks Nanny who the strange man is. Nanny tells Juliet that the man is Romeo, son of Mr Montague. Juliet has fallen in love with the enemy of her family.

Romeo sneaks into the Capulet house to try and find her. Romeo finds her window and calls out to her. Romeo calls Juliet and she comes to the window. Juliet loves Romeo too. Juliet tells Romeo that she will run away from the name Capulet if Romeo will run away from the name Montague. They promise to love each other forever. They agree to marry each other soon. Suddenly someone is coming and Juliet must go. Romeo swears his love for Juliet is true. Juliet promises to visit him tomorrow. Romeo tells her to meet at the cathedral around nine. Romeo decides to go to the priest to ask him for his help.
Romeo is walking through the square in Verona. Gregory sees Romeo and begins to insult him. He calls him many bad names. Romeo tells Gregory that he has a reason to love him so he can handle his offensive words. Benvolio tells them that there are too many people around and that if they must speak they should move to a quiet place. Gregory doesn’t care and pulls out his sword. Romeo doesn’t want to fight because of his love for Juliet. Benvolio can no longer take Gregory’s insults and asks Romeo to move out of the way. Benvolio takes out his sword. Gregory and Benvolio begin to fight with their swords. Gregory stabs Benvolio and he falls to the ground. Romeo sees that Benvolio is dying. Gregory tells Romeo he will kill him too. They begin to fight and Romeo kills Gregory. Juliet hears from Nanny that Romeo killed Gregory. Juliet is very upset and tells her family she is going to get married to Romeo. Mr Capulet is furious. He tells Juliet that she will marry Paris on Monday and until then she is not allowed to leave her room.
Juliet runs to the Priest for help. She doesn’t want to marry anyone but Romeo. The Priest gives Juliet a special potion that will make her family think she is dead. The priest will put her in a coffin and when she wakes up the Priest will marry them. Juliet takes the potion and her family think she has died. Mr Capulet cannot stop crying now that his daughter is dead. Romeo hears people talking about Juliet’s death. He cannot believe she dead. Romeo goes to see her body. He is so sad he takes poison and dies. Soon after this Juliet wakes up and sees that Romeo is dead. She is distraught and takes poison herself. They both die in each other’s arms. The Priest buries them together because they loved each other.
It's really sad story. I'd like to love like this.
